Tokyo, Procrastination

Tomorrow is payday! Whew.

For a long time, I've been wanting to get a flash for my camera. I have a couple of shots I really like, but I needed just a smidge more light to make them better.

I've been doing a lot of research about using a strobe and the best site I've found is www.strobist.com. Lots of really useful and fun information. I've decided to get a third party flash since the Canon is just too far out of my price range. I decided on the Sigma Super 500 (probably got the name wrong because I don't want to get out of my comfy chair

It's probably a lot more flash than I need at the moment, but I can dial the light amount and at 49% off I figure that I won't have to worry about "oh, I should have gotten the other one as I always seem to do when I buy things."

I really like the effect of a flash for outdoor portraits when set one stop brighter than ambient light.

I have a feeling that I am going to be really frustrated with my first bunch of photos until I get proficient with the flash. But I am very excited. Especially about putting the flash off camera.Link
