I asked for a whole bunch of books and dvd's when hubby went on business trip to us last week. And did I score!!!!

I got Firefly, a couple of seasons of Simpsons and the WHOLE Buffy series.

Let me say this again... THE WHOLE DVD SET!!!!! THat is how many hours of viewing? about 22 episodes per season (45 minutes each) so about 16 hours per season, by 7 seasons... over 100 hours of viewing!!!! and that doesn't even count the commentary! I love commentary as I love to hear about creative process.

I started with season 4 as I had seen enough reruns in the last couple of years (although now I think I missed most of season 3 and the whole Faith thing). But it solves this great conundrum for me.

When I came back to the states in 2001, I saw this episode (rerun?) and Willow was an established lesbian. Which was fine except last episode I had seen a year back or so, she was going out with Oz, so I was struck by how out of the loop I'd become. When I called my friend she was all blase and yah yah, Oz had to go on a trip and this was the season Riley joins the show.... Riley who? What show was she talking about?

Thanks for the help. Like THAT explained anything. But now I understand why. I really liked that season. Conspiracy, good ideas gone wrong by following them to blindly.... yep. Like that sort of thing. So I watched the whole season 4 this weekend and left the house once to get a cola from the vending maching across the street.

At least I cleaned my floor and did some dishes!

Wow! He went all out didn't he?! I'm a Buffy fan too. You should watch from the beginning to get the full enjoyment of it. But yes, Season 4 was great and the episodes with Riley were great! He's such a hearthrob! But Angel will always be my favorite for her!

At least you got some housework done!!

I just finished watching all 7 seasons last week. Whew! That was quite a marathon. Lots of things now make sense to me. Willow being gay totally makes sense to me now. And the whole Spike thing. NOW I get it. I quite liked Spike in the end and didn't think that I would.

Had a really great arguement/discussion about whether Riley was to clingy and whiney or not. She said "yep" and I said "no." I like to be able to discuss relationship stuff when I watch a show or read a book.

The idea of the potential slayers was good, but they all irritated me. The last episode when they show girls all around the world who have the potential to be a slayer was a neat idea, but totally ruined for me with the little girl at bat in a baseball game. too cute, too cliche.

Now someday, I will get to go back and watch the featurettes and commentary!

I just did a search here using the keyword Buffy and found this. I also have all the DVDs. I've watched them four times.
