Tokyo, Procrastination

Once upon a time there were three sounds looking for work.  These sounds were Whrrr, Grr, and Skruuuunk.  They were down on their luck sounds.  All the good jobs had been taken up by other, more famous sounds such as Snap, Crackle and Pop; Do, Rei and Mi and famous twosomes such as Ding and Dong and their slightly less famous cousins Bing and Bong.

The biggest problem is that no one seemed to want Whrrr, Grr and Skruuuunk around.  Every once in a while they would get a job in a factory or in some lowly house only to later be chased out by the machinists or the repair man.  One extremely scary moment had them chased out of their new job by a co-ed armed with a can of WD-40 and a cell phone with the line open to her father.

So once again, Whrrr, Grr and Skruuuunk hit the road, drifting about from dusty town to dusty town.  Occasionally a passing motorist would give them a lift.  But of course that only lasted as long as it took to ask them their names and what they did for a living.  No sooner would they answer honestly than they would find themselves standing once again amongst the weeds on a lonely highway.

Being rather resourceful sounds, they tried lying about their names.  They made the mistake, perhaps, of being too ambitious trying to pass themselves off as the famous trio Snap, Crackle, and Pop while hitching a ride one day.  The sounds so alarmed the driver that he stopped the car and ran as far as possible screaming something about explosions.  The sounds politely waited for the driver to return, but after a few hours they realized that they were probably on their own once again.

Part II Coming Tomorrow.

I'm a fan of snap, crackle and pop. I hope these guys can win me over, cause I am a sucker for a happy ending.

I loved this line.
